The ambition of the INTERSECTIONS festival is to present contemporary productions using elements of puppet and object theatre. Productions that blend forms, blur the boundaries of methods and genres, transcend conventions – simply, PRIENIKY. The festival is a platform that brings together a selection of high quality Slovak productions and works created by leading international artists. It offers an opportunity for mutual inspiration, exchange of creative impulses and establishing new professional and personal contacts. The dramaturgical focus of the festival reflects the extent to which different art forms inspire and enrich each other. That is why, in addition to “old-school puppetry”, you will see and experience, for example, works with a distinctive musical or artistic dimension, as well as interactive installations, intermedia performances and physical theatre. Of course, the innovation and originality of the selected productions is also a distinctive criterion, with an emphasis on themes that resonate in contemporary society. An essential part of the festival is the space for reflection on the latest trends in the field of performing arts. As part of the accompanying programme, the festival will provide an opportunity for emerging artists and art school students to present their work.
